The Isle of Skye is probably the most famous Scottish island. A large number of people choose to visit the island because it offers great climbing and walking. This means that you have plenty of accommodation to choose from when you visit the Isle of Skye.

Some of the hotels and hostels on the Isle of Skye only offer their guests breakfast, leaving you free to eat out elsewhere for other meals. But there are also some which offer you the option to eat dinner at them as well. But if you are on a limited budget then it may pay you to stay in one which offers special rates if you opt to have both breakfast and dinner at them. If you are on a very limited budget or prefer the flexibility then you may think about staying at one where you only are required to pay for your room whilst you stay there.

Another option to consider is renting a cottage instead. These are a good option if you are intending to spend a week or more on the Isle of Skye. They are ideal if you like the freedom to do as you please, when you want and don't want to keep to other people's timescales.

It is crucial that during the summer season in Scotland that when it comes to booking accommodation you do so well in advance of your trip. If you don't do this, you may find there is no room at your chosen hotel.
